How
much do your custom designed specialty cakes cost?
We do not have a
general price list because each cake is one-of-a-kind.
Each
cake is priced according to the complexity of the
design, flavor(s) and time invested into its creation.
The final
price is determined by the design and the number of servings
you select. Delivery charges are priced separately.

How
far in advance should I order a cake? We are often booked up many
weeks ahead of time so we recommend reserving your place on our
calendar sooner, rather than later. Occasionally, we are
able to squeeze in last minute orders, so we always say, it doesn't hurt
to ask. In any event, we will do our best to provide you
with a confection that will be complimentary to your special
day. Once your details are finalized, we will
send you a cake confirmation by email. You'll then have a
chance to review your cake specs and make any necessary
changes/additions at that point. A minimum deposit
(25% of your total) is required to reserve your
order,
I understand most of
your cake accessories are made of sugar - like the ones shown here
(shoe and lid)
. Does this mean they are entirely edible?
Our accessories are hand crafted primarily from sugar
mediums, making them edible. However, we mainly create them
for decor purposes. Once they are created, they
are dried and painted accordingly so that they sustain their
individual design and structure. Our paste flowers are also made of sugar, but many
of them are built on wires which are NOT edible. Often times, because the
accessories are made of sugar, they may be kept as keepsakes,
under very low maintenance - no refrigeration necessary. On
the other hand, our cakes, which make up the majority of the
composition, are whats most pleasing to the eye
and palette.
I would like to
order a 3D cake. How will I know how to cut and/or
disassemble it?
Both
written and visual instructions will accompany your cake and/or
your cake confirmation.
Am I limited to ordering only a
cake that is listed on your site? No, you are not locked into
ordering only the cakes displayed on our site. Most of our
cakes are made specifically for a guest(s) of honor the customer
has in mind. You may, of course, duplicate a design, but
know that you are not limited to. Feel free to tell us what you'd like to see in your cake.
Tell us your theme, any colors you'd like to see in your cake, any
particular decorations, etc.
How does butter
cream frosting compare to fondant frosting?
Butter cream still
seems to be the frosting of choice. It has a smooth creamy
texture, rich taste and a favorite amongst guests. However, many
love the look of fondant, but has heard that it does not taste as good
as butter cream. Some fondants taste better than others, one of
which is ours.
Fondant
has a chewy texture, similar to that of a candy corn. It is a sugar dough
that is kneaded, rolled to size and then draped and smoothed over a butter
cream iced cake as a decorative finish.
Our fondant comes in
both vanilla and chocolate flavors.
In our opinion,
fondant may be compared to the crust of a pizza, you may choose to enjoy
it or leave it as you will still have a generous serving of cake and
butter cream to savor.
You have a fondant
covered cake displayed on your site and I would like it in butter
cream. Is that possible?
It all
depends. Because of the structure and design, some cakes
require that we use fondant. As each cake varies, we suggest
you inquire within and we'll let you know whether or not its
possible.
My friend
ordered a book cake which fed 30. May I order a similar
styled cake to feed 45?
Yes.
Our custom cakes can be scaled up or down to accommodate the
number of guests you'd like to feed. On occasion, we do find
some cakes require a minimum
number of servings to create the structure and
design so desired.
I ordered a cake and
will have it delivered shortly. Where is the best place to
display it during the party?
If possible, we recommend you display your cake in
an area where there is little traffic. We suggest this
because this decreases the chance of your cake getting bumped and
its supports shifting (if applicable). If you're anticipating
lots of children at you party, please keep in mind children have a
tendency to want to touch cakes (and why not, its in their genes!)
so its best to display your cake where its out of reach.
I see you are closed on
Sundays. May I still get a cake for that day?
Yes. Should you want a cake for an event
that is held on a Sunday, you may either pick it up or have it
delivered on the Saturday before. We will provide you with
storage instructions and anything else that will pose
helpful. We fully guarantee its quality by the time
its served.
